Barcelona food market

The first thing I needed to do when I arrived in Barcelona was visit the famous food market on La Rambla, Boqueria Market.

I was overwhelmed and amazed. After traveling around for so long I was overcome with joy when I saw fresh fruit and vegetables.

Also at the market....
The amazing meats and seafood

Huge selection of spices

Whole rabbits with organs still intact

Huge selection of tomatoes which were all delicious

The only bad part of the market was I couldn't really buy anything because I didn't have a kitchen. Next time I'm in Barcelona I'm going to rent an apartment.

My perfect breakfast

In the perfect city

This year I spent my birthday in Paris. We had a fantastic apartment about 100 m from Notre Dame. We had so many amazing meals but my favourite was my home cooked breakfast in our apartment on my final morning....using my new truffle shaver.

Ingredients:
1 freshest eggs you can get your hands on
2 slices of the freshest olive bread you can buy
1 black truffle

1. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.
2. Place room temperature eggs in the pot for 3mins.
Remove eggs and run under cold water
3. Toast olive bread while eggs cool slightly
4. Carefully peel the eggs.
5. Liberally shave fresh truffle over the egg
6. Season with salt and pepper

Enjoy with a glass of champagne of course.
